On HUBStands, the wheels & tires with all their inherent variables are eliminated. Inconsistencies such as trueness, run-out, roundness and deflection that affect the accuracy and repeatibility of your set up measurements are gone. You get the wheels out of the way and get everything done more precisley, and done way faster. Stringing, re-setting Height, Balance and adjusting everything from Camber and Toe to Thrust and Wheelbase can now be done wheels free on HUBStands.
Articulated flexible HUBStands "tilt", side slip and rotate on top of their their base and are designed to work with the SmartCamber gauge and Smart Strings. The integral slip and camber pads allow up to 2" of "scrub" or side slip as the suspension compresses; over 4 degrees of camber and up to 20 degrees of rotation for toe and caster measurement. HUBStands have an 8"x14" fixed base for stability that fits on typical scale plates and turn plates.They can be adjusted to reflect height differences between individual wheels so the correct "angle of attack" in the chassis is maintained. HUBStands are hub specific and each version will fit multiple bolt patterns. They can be custom ordered to fit specific applications.
HUBStands are machined from 6061 T6 aluminum and come complete with a set of machine fit, dedicated Toe Sticks. As shown to the right, these unique Toe Sticks pop into place allowing extremely accurate measurement at the hub of "individual toe" when using Smart Strings or laser; or "total toe" when measuring at the base across the front or rear hubs.
HUBStands were designed and engineered in conjunction with the New York State Center for Engineering Design and Industrial Innovation (NYSCEDII) at the University of Buffalo. They are also the result of ideas, input and insight from experienced racers like Joel Reiser, Ernie Jakubowski, Karl Poetl, Adam Friedman, Dave Schardt, Rick Bye and others. They are available for a wide range of race cars up 3600 lbs.
